Two hours in the car can be faster than a 55-minute flight
Toronto to Ottawa by air is an hour in the sky wrapped in two hours of airport. By car it is four and a half hours from your door to the meeting, all of them usable, with no security line, no gate change and no taxi queue at the far end. For two or three colleagues the fixed fare is often below the combined cost of flights, transfers and lost time.
Cross-border journeys are quoted with the crossing built in. Border wait times are read from the Canada Border Services Agency and US Customs and Border Protection feeds on the day and the departure time is adjusted; the chauffeur carries the vehicle documents and knows the commercial-vehicle lane procedures at Peace Bridge, Lewiston and Windsor.
