Business aviation
Private aviation and FBO transfers
A business jet does not publish a flight number, does not use the passenger terminal and does not wait at a gate. The pickup is arranged with your flight department or handler, tracked by tail number, and staged before the aircraft blocks in.
How it works
Four steps between wheels-down and the car door
Handler liaison
We contact the FBO or your flight department when the booking is made, confirm the tail number, the expected block-in time and which side of the fence the car may go.
Tail-number tracking
The aircraft is followed by registration rather than by a schedule. A diversion, a slot delay or an early arrival re-times the chauffeur without a phone call from you.
Vehicle staged
The car is positioned at the FBO before the estimated block-in time, either on the ramp with an escort or at the FBO entrance, depending on the field’s rules.
Departure the same way
For departures the chauffeur delivers to the FBO door or the aircraft steps, and waits until the passenger is confirmed on board when the flight department asks for it.
Ramp access
Where the car meets the aircraft, and where it cannot
Whether a vehicle may drive onto the apron is decided by the airport authority and the FBO, never by the car company. At many fields, including the Pearson private terminals and Teterboro, ramp access is available to approved vehicles with an FBO escort and must be booked ahead. At others, including most large commercial airports, third-party vehicles stop at the FBO building and the chauffeur walks the passenger the last thirty metres.
We tell you which applies to your field in the confirmation, so nobody is surprised on the day. If ramp access matters for a particular movement, say so when booking and we confirm it with the handler before you fly.
