Before you reserve
Questions and answers
The 24 questions clients ask before their first reservation, answered plainly.
Is CorporateBlackLimousine.com an operator or a booking site?
Both, deliberately. In the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario the vehicles and chauffeurs are our own. Beyond that, bookings are fulfilled by affiliate operators we have vetted for licensing, insurance and chauffeur standards, and every journey is confirmed, tracked and invoiced by us. You never deal with the affiliate directly unless you want to.
How is the fare calculated?
Transfers are priced as a fixed fare for the journey, based on distance, vehicle class and the time of day. Hourly bookings are priced per hour with a minimum. The quote you see in the booker or receive by email is the amount charged, with tolls, parking at the pickup point and standard gratuity already included. Nothing is added afterwards unless you change the booking.
What happens if my flight is early or late?
Give us the flight number and we follow it from the airline feed. An early arrival brings the chauffeur forward; a delay pushes the pickup back. The free waiting period is measured from the moment the aircraft lands, not from the time on the original booking, so a delayed flight never becomes a waiting charge.
How long does the chauffeur wait?
Forty-five minutes after a domestic arrival and sixty minutes after an international one are included. At cruise terminals the allowance is sixty minutes from the ship's actual clearance, and at railway stations fifteen minutes from the train's arrival. Beyond those windows waiting is billed in fifteen-minute steps at the rate for the vehicle class.
Where does the chauffeur meet me?
At airports, inside the arrivals hall with a name board unless you prefer kerbside. At FBOs, in the lounge or on the ramp depending on what the field permits. At cruise terminals, at the designated pickup area outside the customs exit. At railway stations, at the exit named in your confirmation, because most large stations have several and choosing the wrong one costs ten minutes.
Do you serve private aviation terminals?
Yes. We coordinate with your handler or flight department, track the tail number, and stage the vehicle at the FBO before the aircraft blocks in. Ramp-side collection is arranged in advance where the airport authority allows it; where it does not, the chauffeur meets you inside the FBO.
Can you collect from a cruise ship?
Yes, and we treat it differently from an airport pickup. We check the berth against the port's schedule on the day, size the vehicle to cruise luggage rather than to passenger count, and hold through the customs and immigration queue at no extra charge.
Do you meet trains?
Yes. Union Station in Toronto, Gare Centrale in Montreal, Penn Station and Moynihan in New York, Chicago Union, Washington Union, St Pancras and the other stations on our rail page are all regular pickups. Give us the train service and we monitor it the same way we monitor a flight.
What is the difference between a transfer and an hourly booking?
A transfer takes you from one address to another for a fixed fare. An hourly booking keeps the car and chauffeur with you for the reserved block of time, so the itinerary can change while you are in the vehicle. With three or more stops, or any wait at a venue, hourly is usually the better value and always the less stressful option.
What does a corporate account include?
A dedicated account manager, stored traveller profiles and preferences, cost-centre and purchase-order billing, a consolidated monthly invoice, duty-of-care reporting on where your travellers were, and negotiated rates that apply in every city on this site.
How do you handle a financial roadshow?
One coordinator receives the running order, positions vehicles at each meeting before the party arrives, and re-sequences the day when a meeting overruns. The bankers, the company and the investor-relations team each get the same live schedule. Roadshows are quoted as a programme, not as a list of transfers.
Can you move a whole conference or trade-show delegation?
Yes. Sprinter shuttles and coaches run fixed loops between the hotel block and the venue, with a dispatcher watching every vehicle and a lead car for speakers and executives. We plan around the loading docks, the accreditation gates and the closing-day rush that every convention centre has.
Do you provide wedding limousines?
Yes, including stretch limousines, luxury SUVs for the wedding party and Sprinter shuttles for guests. Timings are rehearsed against the ceremony and reception schedule, the route is driven in advance, and the vehicle is presented in the condition you would expect for the photographs.
Are child seats available?
Yes, in infant, convertible and booster stages. Tell us the child's age and weight when you book and the correct seat is fitted before the vehicle leaves the garage. There is no charge for this in the Greater Toronto Area.
How much luggage fits in each vehicle?
The bag counts on our fleet page assume full-size checked suitcases. Golf bags, skis, camera cases, strollers and trade-show display cases all take more space, so tell us what you are carrying and we will assign the right class, or add a luggage vehicle, before the day.
How far in advance should I book?
A sedan or SUV in Toronto can usually be confirmed within a few hours. Give us at least 48 hours for Sprinters, stretch limousines, unusual airports, cruise piers on a busy turnaround day and anything during a major event. Roadshows, conference programmes and group movements should reach us as soon as a draft schedule exists.
How do I pay?
By credit or debit card through the online booker at the time of reservation, or by card on file for repeat bookings. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly against purchase orders and cost centres. Full details are on our payments page.
What is your cancellation policy?
Sedans and SUVs booked as point-to-point transfers can be cancelled without charge up to four hours before the pickup time. Hourly bookings, Sprinters, stretch limousines, coaches and event or roadshow programmes carry longer notice periods, which are printed on the quote. The full policy is on the cancellation page.
Is gratuity included?
A standard gratuity is built into every fare so there is nothing to settle in the car. Anything you add on top is entirely at your discretion and goes to the chauffeur in full.
Are your chauffeurs and vehicles insured?
Every vehicle carries commercial passenger-transport insurance at or above the level required where it operates, and every chauffeur holds the commercial licence class their jurisdiction demands. Corporate and event clients can request certificates of insurance and additional-insured endorsements during onboarding.
Can you book my flights and hotels too?
Yes, through the travel hub on this site, which runs on BookingWorldwide.net. Flights, hotels, resorts, car rental, activities and cruises can be arranged alongside the ground transport so the whole itinerary sits in one place.
Which cities do your own vehicles cover?
Our own fleet is based in Toronto and works across the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario, including Pearson, Billy Bishop, Hamilton and Buffalo airports and the Niagara, Kitchener-Waterloo, London and Kingston corridors. Everywhere else on the cities and countries pages is served through affiliate operators under our standards.
Are you members of any industry bodies?
We are listed in the Limousine Worldwide Directory and are members of the Limousine Association International, whose code of practice on vetting, insurance and passenger care we operate to. Both listings are linked from the footer of every page so you can verify them yourself.
How do I change a booking?
Reply to the confirmation email or call the number on it, at any hour. Changes outside the cancellation window are free. If a change increases the vehicle class or the duration, we send a revised quote in writing before it takes effect.
Something not covered?
An account manager will give a direct answer, including when the honest answer is that another operator would suit the job better.
