Railway station transfers at 180 stations
Big stations have several exits, restricted kerbs and pickup zones that change with roadworks. Your confirmation names the exit, the chauffeur is waiting there with a board, and the train is tracked the same way we track a flight.
Why stations are different
Fifteen minutes, one exit, no baggage hall
A train arrives and empties in minutes, so the waiting allowance at a station is fifteen minutes rather than the forty-five at an airport. That only works if the chauffeur is at the right exit. Toronto’s Union Station alone has the Great Hall, the York and Bay Street teamways and the GO concourses, and Front Street directly outside is a no-stopping zone. New York’s Penn Station and Moynihan Train Hall are the same station with entrances two blocks apart.
For every station in the directory we hold the pickup point that the station authority actually permits, and we print it on the confirmation with a short walking direction from the platform. If the service is delayed, the chauffeur is re-timed from the operator’s live feed and the fifteen minutes start when the train actually arrives.

Rail or road?
When the car should do the whole journey
Toronto to Montreal is a five-hour train and a five-and-a-half-hour drive; the difference is that the car leaves from your door when you are ready and arrives at the meeting, not at a station across town. For two or more travellers with luggage, a city-to-city transfer is often the same cost as rail tickets and a taxi at each end, and the car is a working space for the whole trip.
Where rail wins, on the Northeast Corridor into Manhattan for instance, we run the station ends and let the train do the middle.
