Cruise and seaport transfers at 148 terminals
The pier is the one gateway where being late is not recoverable. Embarkation journeys are planned backwards from the boarding deadline with a margin, and disembarkation pickups are timed to the ship's clearance rather than to the time printed on the cruise documents.
Embarkation
Getting to the ship
Most cruise passengers we drive have flown in the day before and are leaving a hotel, or are coming straight from an airport on the morning of sailing. In both cases we work back from the line’s boarding cut-off, add the terminal’s security and check-in time, and add a margin for port traffic, which on turnaround days can be the slowest part of the journey.
Luggage is the second problem. Two passengers on a two-week sailing routinely travel with four large cases and two carry-ons, which is why a couple booked to a pier usually goes in an SUV rather than a sedan. Tell us the bag count and we size the vehicle to it at no extra charge within the same class.
Disembarkation
Getting off the ship
The all-ashore time on the cruise documents is when the gangway opens, not when you reach the kerb. Luggage groups, immigration and the customs hall add anything from thirty minutes to two hours. Pier pickups therefore carry a sixty-minute waiting allowance measured from the vessel’s actual clearance, and the chauffeur is watching the port’s arrivals board, not your booking time.

Canadian and United States ports are listed first because they carry most of our cruise work, including the Vancouver and Seward ends of the Alaska season and the Florida departure ports. Shore-excursion day hire in a port city is booked as an hourly chauffeur reservation.

Port know-how
Three things regular cruisers already know
Terminals get reassigned
Multi-terminal ports move ships between berths at short notice. We confirm the berth against the port authority’s schedule on the morning of travel and reposition the chauffeur ourselves.
Tender ports have no pier
Where the ship anchors and tenders passengers ashore, the pickup point is the tender landing, and the timing depends on the tender queue. We plan those pickups with a wider window and say so.
Groups need a coach, not six cars
Incentive groups and family reunions boarding together move more smoothly in a mini coach or motor coach with a lead SUV for the organiser, and the fare is usually lower than a fleet of sedans.
87 countries one reservation desk, our own fleet in Toronto and accredited affiliates everywhere else
Reserve
Reserve a cruise transfer
Put the ship name and sailing date in the notes and we match the terminal and the berthing schedule for you.
Multi-vehicle programmes, roadshows and group movements are quoted by a person: call (877) 860-3388 or send the outline and an account manager replies with a written proposal.
Book the sailing too
Cruises, pre-cruise hotels and flights through the travel hub
The sailing itself, the flight in and the hotel near the port can all be arranged on our travel hub, which runs on BookingWorldwide.net. When the flight and the hotel are on the same itinerary as the transfer, the pier run is timed to confirmed details rather than to an estimate.
